Virgin Rubber vs Recycled Rubber

Distinct Odor

There is a distinct odor difference between virgin rubber and recycled rubber. Tracks that use even lowest percentages of recycled rubber have a very unique unpleasant “used tire smell” vs tracks manufactured with virgin rubber. The reason is the chemical compounds used for the process of manufacturing with recycled rubber have a strong off-gasing odor associated with them.

Appearance

Xtreme tracks are manufactured with 100% virgin rubber compounds giving the tracks a bold and solid color appearance throughout the full thickness of the track which in comparison to tracks using  recycled rubber will show thin layers that wear through plus the colour is not solid  and may show visible flecked “chips” of color.

Performance

Premium 100% virgin rubber compounds provides superior shock absorption, “rebound,” and durability over the lifetime use of the track. These compounds along with the internal reinforcement structure of the track are the key reason of what provides the longevity of the track.

Dimensional Stability

100% virgin rubber tracks can be manufactured to exact standards and specifications resulting in precise fitting of the internal components and consistent evenness of the tracks dimensions. Tracks manufactured even with the smallest percentage of recycled rubber may vary slightly in dimensions, resulting in less than perfect uniformity over time and could cause the tracks to prematurely fail.
